INCLUSIVE DESIGN TOOLKIT

When I joined Education Cloud at Salesforce, I saw a strong need to embed inclusion practices across both research and design functions. With a small, handpicked team, I envisioned and led the creation of an Inclusive Design Program in collaboration with external subject matter experts. The program aimed to build inclusive mindsets within teams working on core products and to pressure-test inclusive features within our product roadmaps. We launched the program org-wide as a toolkit and secured executive buy-in to scale it across other parts of the organization. We used Microsoft’s Inclusive Design Toolkit as a foundation and partnered with experts from Lyft and IDEO to curate and test the toolkit specifically for Salesforce products. In parallel, we worked closely with Salesforce’s accessibility (a11y) teams to ensure alignment and complement existing accessibility efforts.

Role: Lead / Catalyser
Responsibilities:  Vision, direction, strategy and execution, internal/ external partnerships.

Below are select screenshots from the Inclusive Design Toolkit we developed. The toolkit was designed to be actionable, adaptable, and relevant to Salesforce product teams. It includes frameworks, facilitation guides, and real-world scenarios to help teams apply inclusive design practices across the product lifecycle.

I’m happy to walk through the full Figma file in a 1:1 for a deeper look at the structure, content, and design decisions behind the toolkit.
